The common cold, sore throat, and influenza can typically invade your immune system during the winter months. Each season brings with it temperature changes, flora and fauna changes and it is these changes that make our immune systems more susceptible to bacterial and viral infections. I have been working with several clients this season, helping maintain health with natural medicine exclusively, or in addition to other treatments, like flu shots and antibiotics.
A healthful foundation to any immune system is nutrition. “Whole food” choices, foods that have not been processed or modified, can greatly improve the operational systems of our body. It is the nutrient constituent levels and combinations in whole foods that make items like apples and oranges good for us.
One of my favorite immune builder food combinations is: juice of 1/2 lemon, 1 TBLS maple syrup, dash of cayenne pepper, 1/2 cup water or more. The ingredients in this recipe are power packed with healthy nutrient constituents and build an essential foundation of health. I recommend this drink as a daily health tonic to create an alkaline internal environment where viruses and bacteria will not thrive and grow.
Once a day seem to hard-core . . . try once a week! You will still reap the benefits of this macro-nutrient juice.
