The Get Up! Get Out! Get Active! Initiative attended a very special event in Chicago on Sunday, September 13th, the U2 concert. We want to highlight this concert to point out that fitness doesn't just have to be about working out at a gym or doing traditional exercises. There are many fun and innovative ways to stay in shape. Going to a concert can be one of those activities, as dancing is an easy way to burn a lot of calories. You'll also find that while dancing you're using muscles you probably otherwise wouldn't exercise.
Its important to think of exercise in these terms. Exercise isn't just about having a set routine to stay in shape, its about incorporating physical activity into everyday parts of your life. This can mean dancing at a concert or taking the stairs at work. As you begin to look at exercise in this manner you'll find yourself with more energy and a more positive outlook on life.
