Exercise Description

 

A good way to end the cardio portion of your exercise is to work your calf muscles. It is straightforward and doesn't require any equipment.

Muscle Groups: Calf muscles

Step Number 1

Find any step or raised surface. A stairway is perfect.

 

Step Number 2

Stand on the edge of the step so that your toes and the ball of your foot is on the step and the arch and heel of your foot is over the edge of the step.

 

Step Number 3

Using your calf muscles, raise your body as if you were standing on your tip toes.

 

Step Number 4

Again using your calf muscles, lower your body so that the heel of your foot falls slightly below the level of the step.

 

Step Number 5

Make sure you have a railing or something to hold on to in order to support yourself.
