Team Holosfitness.com member Joe Eagan averaged over 20 mph for his 7 days of riding across Iowa. That's a great feat, considering the numerous hills on the course. The rest of the team didn't have the same level of success, but they managed to achieve average speeds in the high teens, just shy of the 20 mph mark.

This morning we finished the last leg of the race by ceremoniously dipping our front tires into the Mississippi River. This is part of a tradition where you start the race by dipping your back tire in the Missouri River and your front tire in the Mississippi River. Unfortunately our team got lost on the way to the start line, so we were never able to dip our front tires in the Mississippi. read more

Pull Up Champion of Mt. Pleasant, IA
That's right as of approximately 1:30pm central time today, I became the offical pull-up (chin-up) champion of Mt. Pleasant, IA, completing 18 pull-ups. While this might not sound like such a great feat, please note I achieved this after biking 75 miles, drinking three beers, and eating a double cheeseburger with fries.

The Boy Scouts Are Back!!!
Thank God, the Boy Scouts returned to sell cookies at the end of stage 5. Joe and I each had three packages, which set us back a good $1.50.
The ride today was beautiful from Chariton, IA to Ottumwa, IA. It lasted about 80 miles. Joe managed to achieve that distance in a little under 4 hours and I did it in around 4 hours and 10 minutes. The rest of the team was right... read more
